Kpop singer Se7en (세븐) and Sangchu (상추) of the group Mighty Mouth are now under investigation by the South Korean military for having visited a massage parlor while on active duty in the army.
The charges stem from footage captured by the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) program “Scene 21” (현장21) that shows the celebrity soldiers entering massage parlors. On June 25, Scene 21 did an in-depth story on the lives of celebrity soldiers which followed Rain, Se7en, Sangchu and KCM and two others that traveled outside of Seoul for a scheduled performance. They were seen in civilian clothes and drinking alcohol at a restaurant close to their motel. Se7en and Sangchu were also caught on camera going in and out of a massage parlor.
The Ministry of National Defense has said that an investigation is now underway. It has said that if the current investigation uncovers any violation of military rules that the offenders will be punished accordingly. The two are being interviewed regarding the events of June 21. Sangchu is reported to have taken responsibility for the duos actions. An army spokesman said that one of the stars, “has a bad back and a bad knee, so he went to get it treated.”
When first approached by Scene 21 cameras on the night of the incident, the two tried to grab the cameras from the film crew. One of the stars replied, “We’re not doing anything wrong.” The Scene 21 reporter was told by a massage parlor employee that the two said, “they didn’t have enough time and just left without getting a massage after getting their money back.”
No doubt these two Kpop star soldiers will get a proper welcome when they join back up with their units.
